Namaste Tom: Thanks for the information regarding Papa Pilgrim's journey. He was the man with the vision for RAW, the original gen'al. We must honor his life with a RAW's "Whaa a Gwaan" dedicated to his life and contribution to this musical genre around the world. I know Pilgrim as a true Rastaman, he won't glorify death. But this tribute in writing could stimulate a healing process for the masses to express their memories of him. Papa Pilgrim, as he is affectionately known by his associate is like a Baba in African terms. He along with Roger Lewis from the Inner Circle Band originated the vision for RAW, but Pilgrim and Rastaman Nane' were the little engines who could. They created the first RAW conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan and the rest is history. These are some of the facts of Papa Pilgrim's life, he lived it as a humble leader who was somehow detached from the Babylon's realities of life. However, he did the work that made the difference to society. He was a man of few words but acted with great intent, always trying to lead by example. He spoke mostly with his eyes, and everyone who met him were drawn into to his aura. But yet he was a more private, behind the scene kind of guy. He was a fighter who survived many surgeries but didn't wallow in the sympathy. He choose to live a private life and that would be honored in his memory. Much Rawspect, Jah Breeze RAW #85
