Fecha : 16 de Diciembre de 2002 Título: Tercer disco de Onice Fuente informadora :Lalo Tema: Novedades Discográficas Llegar a un tercer disco en la historia de las bandas venezolanas es mas que una utopía, más difícil mantenerse en el medio artístico, esto da a demostrar el ejemplo de constancia de un artista en contra de todas las adversidades que se le presentan y es directamente proporcional a la crisis total que atraviesa Venezuela; ejemplos como Amigos Invisibles, Caramelos de Cianuro, Desorden Publico, Mulato, Aditus, Arcángel, La Misma Gente demuestran que hay que ser mas que un grupito musical; y más merito tiene cuando el trabajo se hace independiente como es el hecho del nuevo disco de Onice "Ha llegado el Momento" producido por la misma banda junto a Armando Gómez el mismo que ha realizado trabajos para "La Corte" y "Zona Siete" con sus mismos recursos y conocimientos; para la mayoría de los músicos de Onice seria como su primer trabajo musical, debido a la reestructuración que tuvo la banda con la ida de sus músicos principales el bajista Gustavo Miranda a Ciudad México, el Baterista David Delgado a Nueva York, y el Saxo director musical Carlos Rolle a Francia buscando mejores horizontes, pero para los hermanos Miranda que quedan Genis y Chico es el producto de 15 años de trabajo ininterrumpidos haciendo Reggae a la venezolana. Hoy en día Ónice tiene una nueva propuesta musical formada por Rubén Verde en la Guitarra líder, Domingo González en la Batería, Rafael Flores "El Negro" en el bajo, Luis Barreto en la voz principal, Alexis Bello en el Saxo, Rafael "Chico" Miranda en la guitarra rítmica y coros, y Genis Miranda en los teclados y coros; participaron también en el disco Armando Gómez y Alexander González en los sampleos, Keyla Fuenmayor en la voz femenina, la carátula fue diseño de Gustavo Velásquez el mismo que realizo la portada para Sontizon, y en la fotografía Iván Candeo. "Ha Llegado El Momento" tiene sonidos muy digeribles y agradables para él publico actual, grabado con las mismas técnicas digitales que usan los grandes artistas de la actualidad, y no se parece a cualquier grupo de reggae, porque su complejidad es la resultante de la voluntad de los músicos de ahora; el disco se pasea por las influencias de la balada, accid jazz, Hip Hop, Metal, World Beat aderezado con rock steady, reggae roots, lovers reggae, dance hall, raggamuffin combinados dentro de un PC., con una visión para todo publico; el caso más vistoso es la versión de "Pensando en ti" de José Lazo, quien fuera popularizada por "La Dimensión Latina" llevada a versión reggae, como también hay una balada muy a lo Shaggy que se titula "Quisiera". Para combatir la piratería "Ha Llegado el Momento" de Onice, no excederá su precio de Bs. 5.000,oo, a pesar que los costos de producción fueron realmente caros, pero la idea es que el disco sea accesible a todo publico, en una Venezuela informal, que le sobra talento y se abre paso con o sin existencia de una Industria Musical y de Instituciones.
