This past week was our most successful yet. We are very grateful for those who are helping us to spread the King's music to the massive. We are gearing up our "studio" to allow us to rip vinyl to mp3, as we are discovering that there is a lot of good roots music out there released only as singles. We are seeking any and all recommendations for roots singles and would love to hear from anybody with such for sale, donation, whatever! Also, we are seeking artists who might be willing to record station ID spots. Please contact me if you are interested. I would also like to express my thanks to all of the RAW members- fans, DJ's, artists etc. who have been so helpful as we've gotten off the ground. RAW has been a tremendous blessing. To date Creation Steppin' is featuring the music of over 40 RAW artists. For many, we are the only station on Live365 that plays their music. Help us to help them/you be heard by sharing our link. I firmly believe that internet radio is going to play a big role in a resurgent interest in reggae outside of it's core fan base, and that internet radio is key to the advancement of underexposed artists. Be aware that there may be a very important bill up before the US House this week (HR5469) if the recording industry and internet broadcasters cannot reach an agreement- this legislation will affect the royalties paid by internet stations. Webcasters such as myself are more than willing to pay royalties, but do not want them to be so burdensome as to put us out of business. Without internet radio, outside of a few shows in select markets, all you'll be able to hear is corporate radio. Corporate radio as you know has no room for reggae. It is key to all of you that internet radio continue to exist as a means of exposing new fans to your music, fans that otherwise would probably never even know that you exist. For more information please check out www.saveinternetradio.org And, as always, give us a listen when you're in need of some rootical vibes, or if you just want to hear some fellow RAWsters.
