Last night at Malibu Inn was EXPLOSIVE!!! At 8pm doors opened. At 9:15pm NOBODY CARES took the stage with a great crowd skankin' to their originals. Evidently, it inspired one of the customers who just happened to be Kid Rock with his entire band and Pamela Anderson to get up on the stage along with Eric Clapton's and Bob Marley's harmonica player, Lee Jaffe performed an entire 45 minute set impromtu. Next came Bad Fish a hot new band heard frequently on KROQ and Reggae Nation video gave another irie set followed by DETOUR POSSE opening and accompanying BARRINGTON LEVY. During the set, Lee Jaffe returned to the stage to blow his harp on REBEL MUSIC a song he performed on the original recording with Bob Marley. Barrington sang and the audience was mesmerized if that wasn't enough, he called TIPPA IRIE to the stage and the two sang "Young Fresh and Clean" to an exuberant crowd. The crowd went berserk!!!!!!!!!! It was off the hook!!!!!!! Tonight Barrington Levy returns to MALIBU INN with his secret special guest and will be backed by DETOUR POSSE and Brokedown and Local Culture Bands will open. Doors open 8pm Food is excellent, served all night and tickets at door are only $20. Presale online www.malibu-inn.com are $15 [3]------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- >From Roots-ee (#214) Subject: LIFE and DEBT documentary Date: Fri, 14 Nov 2003 18:27:13 -0500 From: rlam we shared with the campus on monday/nov 10 and on wednesday/nov 12... the sound track from the CD is excellent--- *buju banton--acapella 'destiny' * G 7--ziggy *life and debt--muta *guess what's happening--luciano *ras ivi and the family of rastafari reasoning *works to do--ziggy *work--bob marley *nyabinghi drums and chants--ras ivi and the family of rastafari *give em a ride--sizzla *solutions--ziggy and ghetto youth *circumstances--buju banton *excerpt--mr marsh, onion farmer from st elizabeth *raid di barn--anthony B *smile jamaica--bob marley *worldwide corruption--rolando mc lean ( yami bolo ? ) *nyabinghi drums and chants--ras ivi and the family of rastafari *globalization--ziggy marley *fools die--peter tosh one, peace, roots-ee http://thearkband.com [4]------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- >From Anna Fisher (#1224) Subject: CRUCIAL SHOWS TONIGHT and NEXT WEEK!!! Benny "Jah B" Torres has for many years been working his guitar magic at reggae festivals and venues across the state of California. His guitar skills have been sought out by many touring and recording reggae artists, and can be heard on a number of West Coast-produced albums.
