"Hello Tom, It is with unbelievable grief and a rended heart that I e-mail to let you know that [Papa Pilgrim] passed away last Sunday, October 5th." He and Wendi were on a trip to Scotland. Ten days into the trip, on October 2, Papa Pilgrim suffered a massive stroke due to a blood clot in the brain. He passed on a few days later in the hospital in Aberdeen. Papa Pilgrim was cremated according to his wishes, and his ashes will be spread in a private place. He did NOT want a memorial service, and there are no plans for one. Wendi adds... "Thus, I ask that if anyone is compelled to send flowers or cards or anything like that, I do not wish to dissuade what someone may wish to do for their own healing process or to help me, by I do very much ask to not receive things that emphasis the physical death (funeral flower rings, 'sorry about the death' sympathy cards, etc); you know; things that Glenn would not have felt were right. I do not mind e-mails, particularly if there are people who wish to share wonderful memories or their feelings; but I would also want anyone sending an e-mail to know that I may not be able to respond for quite some time, if at all. So there's no offense if I cannot manage a reply right away; it's just that.... it's a terrible process" I ask that everyone please be sensitive to these requests. In the spirit of Papa Pilgrim, I request that all of us in R.A.W. re-confirm our livication to the music he found so inspiring...I think the greatest memorial we could create would be to make Reggae Ambassadors Worldwide a living testament to the vision of this humble giant. Pilgrim, you have been a guiding light to me for over a decade. I hope & pray that we will make you proud.
