Due to a possible change in living situation, the current storage place for the RAW booth may soon no longer exist. Therefore, the RAW booth is looking for a new home. I need someone who is in the San Francisco area, or relatively close, so that the booth and its trappings can be easily picked up prior to the Annual Sierra Nevada World Music Festival in late June, and returned thereafter. Space wise, the booth etc has been stored in a closet at the home of Kym & Lawrence Hansen, and has taken up about half the space in that closet. I am not good at estimating such things but I'd would guess it would occupy roughly 4' by 4' by 5' (possibly less). There is a booth structure, which breaks down and is kept in a carrying case, a couple chairs, which do the same, a couple card tables, two ice coolers, a small tent, a large plastic bucket, and various misc. items. If there is a good samaritan out there who has some extra closet space, can ensure security, and would be willing to store these items for RAW, I would appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible. Thanks in advance Tom #33 [2]------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- >From Russell Gerlach (#19) & Reggae Nucleus Magazine (#676) Subject: Reggae Nucleus So. 'In 1978 my first album Dread Beat An Blood was released. I was amazed by the enthusiastic welcome it received from the British music press. I was an aspiring poet trying to articulate the black experience in Britain from the perspective of second and third generation young blacks through Jamaican verse. The reggae intrinsic to my verse was a way of bringing the poems to a wider audience. I never dreamed that, 25 years later, I would have been able to sustain a career and enjoy so much success as a reggae artist and poet on the international stage. To all those who have contributed in one way or another to my achievements, I say thanks for enabling me to celebrate 25 years in reggae.' - Linton Kwesi Johnson, London, October 2003 LKJ Live in Paris (LKJ DVD 001), the reggae poet's debut DVD, was filmed at a concert at the Zenith in Paris earlier this year. It features many of his well-known recordings, accompanied by the incomparable Dennis Bovell Dub Band, and also has an interview with LKJ. It promises to be a rare treat for those who have been to LKJ gigs in the past, as well as for those who have never been able to make it. At the same time the new CD LKJ Live in Paris (LKJ CD 022) will be launched, the first new live album by Linton Kwesi Johnson for nearly 20 years. Tracks on LKJ Live in Paris (DVD and CD): 1.
