PLEASE! Date: Friday, August 01, 2003 5:28 AM From: "Tom Pearson" Greetings all! In recent days I have seen a marked increase of submissions for our newsletter "Wha Gwaan in RAW?" that do NOT follow the guidelines suggested, and which have been announced many times. I will REPEAT! Wha Gwaan in RAW? is a strictly TEXT-BASED newsletter. Since we must send out to members of varying computer capabilities, it is necessary to restrict submissions to TEXT ONLY. That means no graphics, color, sound, bells or whistles. No attachments! Anything sent with the above-mentioned extras will be returned to the sender, and WILL NOT BE INCLUDED in WGIR Also, today I received at least four messages submitted in HTML format. Now I realize how cool such announcements can be, but unfortunately, none of those extras (i.e. bolding, italics, underlining, etc) will show up in WGIR, and before I can send a message to Eric for inclusion in WGIR, I have to go through and delete all those commands. That means deleting every
,  , , etc. This is a very time consuming task, and one which I am simply no longer able to do. I have NO idea how messages are sent in HTML, I just know we can't receive them. If you are sending a message in HTML, I will, from this moment forward, return it to you, and ask you to re-send the message in basic no-frills text. So the basic rule for WGIR submissions is: TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT and NOTHING ELSE! Thanks Tom #33 [2]------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- >From Wayne Stoddart (#1764) Subject: Tribute to 9/11 Victims : Wayne Stoddart New single Date: Wed, 3 Sep 2003 07:49:59 -0700 (PDT) From: Wayne Stoddart http://artists.mp3s.com/artist_song/3389/3389807.html Wayne Stoddart's Undiluted Records teamed up with Katalys Records to produce a soothing reggae/hip hop remix of Paul Simon's Bridge Over Troubled Waters. The Wailers in Santa Rosa Date: Wed, 03 Sep 2003 11:55:33 -0700 From: Yasmin Solomon >From DJ SISTER YASMIN, Crucial Dance Riddims, Northern California RAW # 56 Hard work, perseverance and the power of many working together in unity for a good cause, finally came to fruition at the Last Day Saloon in Santa Rosa, CA last night, as hundreds of Irie, happy revelers came together in Peace, Unity and Love. THE WAILERS were fantastic, I World International Rockers, the opening band, were at their very best, and the guests were fantastic! This was the most packed house and best vibes Reggae event that I've participated in at this fine venue, since I started working there 18 months ago. WHAT A NIGHT and what a PARTY! Wow! The people who run and work at this club are the nicest, most professional folks and are warm, friendly and kind. The sound is impeccable--Big Up to Jared the house soundman, and The Wailer's soundman was a real PRO. They sounded great! Everyone sounded great--for real, (including me). It was truly a magical night and finally, the Sonoma County (and well-beyond) posse turned out en masse to support Sweet Reggae Music at this fine venue. BIG UP to Ken O"Donnell and Sheila Groves of McNear's MYSTIC THEATER who wisely and kindly did not do their Israel Vibration show that same night on top of our show. THANK YOU MYSTIC THEATER! Nuff respect due! More thanks and RESPECT to our "Street Team"--Sister SHEKEYNA, Jonathan, David in Ukiah, I World Int. Rockers and all the many, many of us who postered, handed out fliers, and got the word out to the Massive and brought in the crowds, finally! Bless you all, and a special Big Up to BOB SLAYTON who's Calendar goes far and wide and is always right on time! Ditto for RAW who helps immensely with spreading the word. I have not seen the local papers, but if you helped us bring in the crowd, thanks to you too! And also thanks to radio for your support! So, I am just a bundle of JOY today and really want to thank EVERYONE who made happen such a great event, especially DAVE, BILLY, ALISSA, DIANE, ROBERT, JARED and all the many workers at the Santa Rosa LAST DAY SALOON, who worked so hard to make this event such a success. Thank you! You are wonderful! (am I gushing? I just can't help it). I know I forgot someone or several someones. So, if I didn't mention you, you know who you are, you know how hard you worked to make last night so beautiful, and THANK YOU EVERYONE! And last but not least, to the Reggae Lovers who participated, danced, and put out so much love, good vibes, happiness and joy last night---BLESS YOU ALL! It would not have happened without you! Thanks for coming. THANKS TO THE WONDERFUL WAILERS FOR sharing with us YOUR TALENT, YOUR LOVE and your transformational MUSIC! I do feel transformed today! Halleluyah! Praise Jah! Now, if we can keep this high, positive and wonderful energy continuing and growing, this club can become a truly wonderful Mecca for Reggae Music in the North Bay area. I hope you will continue to support. PREZIDENT BROWN & The Solid Foundation Band will perform there on THURSDAY, SEPT. 11th (a Reggae celebration is appropriate for that day of all days), and YELLOWMAN and The Sagittarius Band will play the following THURSDAY, SEPT. 18th, both shows 9PM, 21 and over. OK, what did I forget? Oh yes, it is always Rocky's birthday right around Labor Day (mine too) and there was a great chocolate cake. HAPPY BIRTHDAY/EARTHDAY to all of we VIRGOS! Reggae Music is strong, healing, powerful and brings us all together in LOVE and Unity. At least, that is the ideal. So, let's keep it moving forward and build it stronger. See you at Prezident Brown and Yellowman, and again, THANKS TO EVERYONE! It was a night I will always remember. Much Love, Respect and PEACE us all and the WORLD.
