PLEASE! Date: Friday, August 01, 2003 5:28 AM From: "Tom Pearson" Greetings all! In recent days I have seen a marked increase of submissions for our newsletter "Wha Gwaan in RAW?" that do NOT follow the guidelines suggested, and which have been announced many times. I will REPEAT! Wha Gwaan in RAW? is a strictly TEXT-BASED newsletter. Since we must send out to members of varying computer capabilities, it is necessary to restrict submissions to TEXT ONLY. That means no graphics, color, sound, bells or whistles. No attachments! Anything sent with the above-mentioned extras will be returned to the sender, and WILL NOT BE INCLUDED in WGIR Also, today I received at least four messages submitted in HTML format. Now I realize how cool such announcements can be, but unfortunately, none of those extras (i.e. bolding, italics, underlining, etc) will show up in WGIR, and before I can send a message to Eric for inclusion in WGIR, I have to go through and delete all those commands. That means deleting every
,  , , etc. This is a very time consuming task, and one which I am simply no longer able to do. I have NO idea how messages are sent in HTML, I just know we can't receive them. If you are sending a message in HTML, I will, from this moment forward, return it to you, and ask you to re-send the message in basic no-frills text. So the basic rule for WGIR submissions is: TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT and NOTHING ELSE! I am establishing a reggae musical site; www.princessrebel.com, which is currently under construction and to be completed in the next two weeks. The site is to promote myself as a reggae artist and my newly established record label.I have performed on several major stage shows, mainly in Jamaica e.g. Sting, Spectrum, Reloaded and, here in England, I have performed on MOBO Regional Finals for Unsigned Talent, as well as in several cities and at various carnivals. I have recently recorded songs for King of Kings and Studio One record labels. I have produced a song on my own record label: Exclusive Records, featuring Don Campbell alongside myself, to be released next month. I rap as well as deejaying (MCing in 'patois') and write all my own lyrics, ranging from reality and culture to suggestive and hardcore, without the use of any profanity or violence. AS A RAW MEMBER, I would like the opportunity to link with your website so that people who come to my site could then obtain further links to yourselves for further information. Please email me at your earliest convenience by replying to info@princessrebel.com. Could you please also advise the procedure I should follow to have my song reviewed by yourselves. Many thanks, One Love, Princess Rebel.
