Let me ask you a simple question: do you burn music from the internet? If you answered yes you can also do the same with 'REGGAE VIBES.' Please consider it because it is getting too costly. If you need an old email letter with the web address, just let me know. Otherwise, I am considering stopping it. We can no longer afford to mail out as many as we do. The costs are too high. The burning process would eliminate this problem so please try it. Please do not ignore this message and act on it unless you don't want 'REGGAE VIBES' anymore. We also take donations. Sponsors are alos welcome. Unfortunately this is the reality of it, we need the financial support to continue. Thanks for your time and I look forward to emailing you not only the email letter but the program itself. Love & Respect, LANCE-O KULCHA SHOK MUZIK,Inc. Date: Sun, 21 Sep 2003 23:47:26 -0700 From: molinus Greetings, Last weekend, I played the LA Convention Center two days at the Black Business Expo & Trade Show. It was even better than last year! While there, I got tickets to see "Tribute to Lou Rawls" Sat. Night at Kodak Theater in Hollywood. It was the taping of the performances for his upcoming UNCF Benefit Show. Check the line-up: Stevie Wonder O'Jays Chaka Khan Musiq vivian green Ashanti Jaheim With many, many special appearances! I've always wanted to attend the show and it was truly a dream come true! What's so surreal about the whole thing is that exactly 30 years ago, I attended Stevie Wonder/Chaka Khan Concert at Boston Garden when I was 13! It was my first Superstar Concert and changed my life! Boston was having so much trouble with "busing/integration". Stevie had children from every culture imaginable on the stage and asked us all to light a lighter for our future leaders. It made me realize how special Stevie really was to bring so much love to Boston that night! Last Saturday night, he sang "I Love You, Lou" an endearing song he'd written just for the occasion. Lou has raised over $200 million dollars for scholarships in 25 years, now granting 65,000 students a better chance this year. Please keep watch for this beautiful tribute to a man who never even attended college himself but wanted to give back to help others to a better life. I'm sure he'll inspire many to follow his trail with the same grace and speed, if not greater! Drummer Winard Harper was in L.A. this past week with his East Coast Band!!! WOW, what a band!!!! He asked me to come sit in on Wednesday night again with him at Kaotic Sounds in Leimert Park and Thursday at Ramada Inn in Hollywood, but I had a campsite reservation at Thornhill Broome Beach and plans to spend some quality time alone (2 days) until my daughter met me Friday and Saturday. It was just gorgeous and right on time, as I've been asked to sub at least three weeks for one of our five pregnant teachers out on maternity leave. Sure hope it's not contagious!! =:-0 I'll be at Woodland Hills Hilton (Fitzgerald's) this Saturday, September 27, 8:00 PM sitting in with Jazz legend, Gene Diamond at his CD release party. Hope some of you can make it out! The next weekend I'm playing a private party at the famous Roosevelt Hotel (home of Hollywood Mayor Johnny Grant). This will be the fourth or fifth time I've performed there! Last December, I was there as V.I.P. for the Hollywood Christmas Parade, very cool! Sat with Kevin Eubanks (Guitarist, Jay Leno's Tonight Show Music Director)and his neighborfriend. Will be rehearsing with piano virtuoso, Larry Nash soon for some upcoming performances....stay tuned... Ron told me that everytime they return to an area they always like to give 'repeat' listeners something new, which is no easy task as I have seen them perform 9 times prior to yesterday. But MIDNITE did not disappoint, ripping off 3 new tunes (Jah Say So, How Can You Judge and Drastically Resistent To Rome) from two albums that will be released before year's end. Their set that lasted just shy of 2 hours, and included a killer version of "Hieroglyphics", one of my favorite selections from 'Ras Mek Peace' that I had never heard live before. Other reggae artists performing at EarthDance included Groundation, Big Mountain, Vince Black & Root Awakening, Soul Majestic and Michael Franti and Spearhead. Big up to Prezident Brown, a great artist in his own right, who came forward to this festival to witness the music of MIDNITE. My only complaint was the dust, which made it almost impossible to breath while you danced.... Here are the dates remaining on the MIDNITE - Intense Pressure tour.
