New music Tuesday just hit once again and we have two more quality releases available on our www.lionofzion.com webstore. Simply listen to a few of the RealAudio clips of dancehall deejay Shadrach's "Ashes to Ashes", or singer Dwain Walters' "Sold Out To Jesus" and you will be convinced for yourself. Our record company Lion of Zion recently signed a major distribution deal. Lovers rock group 'Imisi just returned from a tour of Central California. And lastly, the Gathering, a local congregation of believers started in Trinidad by Mark Mohr is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a massive concert this Friday. THE GATHERING HOLDS ANNIVERSARY CONCERT 1>. NEW DANCEHALL/REGGAE CDS ADDED TO WEBSTORE (Shadrach & Dwain Walters) Do you want to revolutionize the way you buy music? Are you sick of buying CDs full of ordinary songs on the Internet and then having to wait for weeks until they get to you? Then Check out lionofzion.com, where our customers give us the highest ratings for customer service, prompt deliveries, and clean positive music! With new releases added every other Tuesday, LionofZion.com has the world's largest selection of gospel reggae & world music. Here is a brief overview of the two amazing new albums just released on www.lionofzion.com Shadrach, ASHES TO ASHES (Hardcore Dancehall Reggae) On "Ashes to Ashes," London dancehall newcomer Shadrach, offers an unwavering message of repentance over the hardest of hardcore riddims. This album 'run tings!' It is undoubtedly one of my top dancehall picks of the year. I can't get enough of it and you won't be able to either! Produced by the veteran Mikey Spence, "Ashes to Ashes" is not just another Jamaican artist trying to sound American or sing gospel. This isn't reggae-lite for all of you diet-reggae lovers. This musical tract is THE REAL DEAL. It is hardcore Jamaican dancehall done by an authentic Jamaican in thick Jamaican patios (with a sound similar to that of Spragga Benz or Degree). So clean that wax out of your ears and listen to our Real Audio clips right now. I am sure that you will also be convinced. If you like dancehall, then you will love this album. I am willing to stake my reputation on it! -- Mark Mohr For a complete review and RealAudio clips of select songs from this album, simply go to: http://www.lionofzion.com/store/albums/78da4b4c0400012500c3/Shadrach/Ashes+To+As hes.html Dwain Walters, SOLD OUT TO JESUS (Reggae/Dancehall/Hip Hop/Latin/Black Gospel) In his first full-length release, singer/songwriter Dwain Walters packs a unique blend of reggae, dancehall, hip-hop and gospel music. Dwain, a Jamaican by birth, is an award winning songwriter that has shared the stage with Stitchie, Junior Tucker and Claudelle Clarke. It is often said "there is strength numbers." Never has this been more apparent then on this album with the generous contributions of Joy, Wingy Danejah, Monty G, Dane-jah-rus, B-Fus, Randy, Divine Image, Minister C. Byron and Llamar. This is a quality release with sweet packaging from an artist that is truly "Sold Out To Jesus". It is a must-have to complete the catalog of any gospel reggae collector. For a complete review and RealAudio clips of select songs from this album, simply go to: http://www.lionofzion.com/store/albums/78da4bb4040000fd009b/0/new_album.html Also Available: Katalys Crew, OPEN YOUR EYES (Roots Reggae/Dancehall/Ska): "Open Your Eyes" is hands-down, the best contemporary reggae recording of 2004. The Katalys Crew is an eight-member group (six guys and two girls), hailing from Kingston, Jamaica. Fusing traditional roots reggae with dancehall, soca and ska, this live band has successfully created an entity like none other in the gospel industry. Their music is beyond that of Morgan Heritage. This is real reggae and authentic dancehall. http://www.lionofzion.com/store/albums/78da4b34070000fb0099/Katalys+Crew/Open+Yo ur+Eyes.html ROOTS GOSPEL, Various Artists (Roots reggae/Ska/Dancehall): If you enjoyed Lion of Zion's "Reggae Redemption Songs," then you will be delighted with this collaboration. The production is excellent and the talented singers are on key and in tune with the word of God. Brimming over with 18 tracks, this compilation delivers both quality and quantity. Get ready to be blown away by 16 brilliant performers such as Judy Mowatt, Prodigal Son, Shelly Thunder and Wayne Stoddart. http://www.lionofzion.com/store/albums/78da4bb4000000fc009a/Various+Artists/Kats Jam+Roots+Gospel+Vol.+1.html Other recent additions to our webstore include: Geneman, THE LIGHT (Roots reggae/Dancehall) Isaac Blackman, IN YOUR EYES (Jamoo/Soca/Reggae) Dj Counsellor, TOTALLY LINKED (Dancehall reggae) Richie Righteous, CENSORSHIP (Hip Hop/Dancehall) Nijel Rawlins, CARIBBEAN PRAISE (Soca/Reggae/Latin) Clothing and Accessories: CHRISTAFARI, LION OF ZION T-SHIRT (Two colors). LION OF ZION ENTERTAINMENT SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH PGE DISTRIBUTION (TO BE FULFILLED AND DISTRIBUTED BY SONY/BMG RED AND FAITHWORKS): First release under new deal is Christafari's Gravitational Dub (Nashville, TN) November 12th, 2004 -- Gospel reggae and world music record label Lion of Zion Entertainment, Inc. recently signed an exclusive U.S. (CBA and general market) distribution deal with Point of Grace Entertainment Distribution, a company distributed by Faithworks in the CBA market and Sony/BMG Red in the general market. The new deal, which takes effect immediately, will include Lion of Zion Entertainment's catalog of Gospel reggae and world music titles. The first new release to be distributed by PGE will be Christafari's Gravitational Dub--Destination Dub Central Station, in stores January 11, 2005. Commenting on this news, John van der Veen, music buyer for Family Christian Stores, the nation's largest chain of Christian book & music retailers, said: "When I think about the power of music, I think about the impact it can have on both the individual and the masses. Such is the case with Christafari. Mark and his band mates have impacted my life in such a way to desire more of the things of Jesus. I also have witnessed the power of Mark's records changing the masses, to see the Light, to see the Truth. I am excited about the new relationship that Lion of Zion Entertainment now has with Point of Grace Entertainment. This new partnership is more than contracts and dotted lines, this is the family of God, linking arms to both speak to the church and the unchurched. Such will be the case for Christafari's new record, Gravitational Dub. I have lived with this record for some time now, and I must say I believe it is their finest work to date. Look out folks, reggae is taking over in '05!" Started in 1999 by Christafari founder and vocalist Mark Mohr, Lion of Zion Entertainment is the largest provider of gospel reggae and world music on the planet. The label consistently introduces Christian music buyers to new musical cultures from around the world, including such genres as gospel dancehall, dub, soca, calypso, jamoo, raggamuffin hip hop, African and mereggae. "We have a lot of respect for Mark Mohr and Lion of Zion Entertainment," said PGE Distributions Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Minister Earnest Jefferson. "Lion of Zion has enjoyed huge popularity at Christian and mainstream retail over the years, and we look forward to this long-term relationship. The expanded affiliation with Lion of Zion will strengthen an already strong and growing retail presence that PGE has within the CBA marketplace. Lion of Zion Entertainment now becomes our largest single supplier of music in PGEs history!" Releases from Lion of Zion Entertainment have included albums from artists such as Christafari, 'Imisi, Stitchie, Sherwin Gardner, Tiko&Gita, and Monty G. The label has also released a number of various artist compilations including Reggae Redemption Songs, Dancehall Baptism 1 & 2, Africa Anointed, Ragamuffin Hip Hop 1 & 2, To The King and Soca Baptism. Beyond the reggae/world music theme, each one of these artist releases and compilations share a unifying message of salvation in Christ alone. We are extremely enthusiastic about this new deal with PGE," said Lion of Zion Entertainment President, Mark Mohr. "Having had some unfortunate distribution experiences in the past, we set out to work with a respected organization known for its integrity and consistency. I believe we have found this in Minister Jefferson and PGE. Their professionalism, marketing strategies and distribution channels coupled with our existing international distribution will help us continue to fulfill our mission of Reaching the World Through World Music." 3>. 'IMISI UPDATE Lion of Zion recording group 'Imisi recently hit the road for a short tour of Central California. The group's first stop was at Victory Outreach in Oxnard, where the guys connected with some great friends that they have known for years. This was the first time that Imisi had ever held an official "worship concert". It was quite an experience! They had a great time and many were blessed by the group's spirited performance. They guys were please to see so many come forward to make first time decisions and recommit their lives to the Lord! There have been some recent additions to the group's line up. And it was in Oxnard where 'Imisi fans had their first opportunity to see the group's new bassist (Paul Roberts Jr.) and guitarist (Foi Toomalatai). It has been over a year since this vocal trio has toured with a full band. So needless to say, the guys were hyped! From Oxnard they headed off to Lompoc where they were set to play in association with another Victory Outreach event. This time it was a Harvest Fest held in the center of the town. Many children and parents were out playing games and enjoying the conscious reggae tunes from 'Imisi's latest album, "Visions of the Father". Finally, the guys headed off to Morro Bay to lead worship in a few morning services and perform for a new monthly event held at Calvary Chapel Shoreline called "Radiate". This radical service is geared towards college students and young adults. 'Imisi had an awesome time and their performance was excellent. The ministry was great and the group had the privilege of meeting some really cool brothers and sisters in the Lord. After returning home safely, the guys are continuing to write for their next album. David recently joined producer Mark Mohr in the Zionic Sounds Dub Lab to add some sweet vocals to Christafari's next studio recording. For more details on 'Imisi, and to see a video that the group shot in Hawaii, visit their website at http://www.imisi.com Last but not least, if you haven't picked up a copy of their award winning "Visions of the Father" release, buy this CD today at www.lionofzion.com http://www.lionofzion.com/store/albums/78da334f020000d2009a/%27Imisi/Visions+of+ the+Father.html 4>.
