The cornerstone concept of the project is taking classic songs and bringing them right into today's sound. The CD features the talents of the "First Lady of Song" and reggae pioneer, Marcia Griffiths, on "Special Occasion" and a cover of Miriam Makeba's "Pata Pata" with Meeky. Other favorites include covers from Jack Radics ("Signed Sealed, Delivered"), Fiona ("Don't Leave Me this Way"), Sharon Forrester ("So Nice to See Old Friends"), and Dennis Malcolm ("When She Was My Girl"). There are also a few original tracks that attain instant classic status due to the strength of the performances (Chrisinti's "Searched for Love" and YahBreeze's "Rock Me"). The very special bonus track, "Never Been Here Before" by Dhaima (best known for her work with producer Joe Gibbs in the 70's which yielded the hits "Inna Jah Children" and "A True" with Dennis Brown) gives respect where respect is truly due. "Just as you know a tree by its fruit, the work we do today is a reflection of our roots. Eight76 Records is a result of seeds planted decades ago by Carmetta Pitter and Dhaima Matthews. Nuff respect to our foremothers and forefathers as we move forward along the path they made for us." states Myshjua Archibald, Eight76 Records co-owner/partner, in the liner notes. Eight76 artist, Evette's track, "Here I Am," showcases the talented young singer who made her Sumfest debut in Jamaica earlier this summer and recently charmed the crowd at the "Night of Serious Vibes" concert in Miami. Her eagerly anticipated debut solo album is to be completed and released by the end of the year. The RETRORESPECK CD will be featured this weekend, September 24-26 on reggae radio shows/stations nationwide featuring "win it before you can buy it" contests, artists interviews, and more. Also, watch for new for upcoming CD releases from Fyah Blaze, the Zinc Fence Project, and more on Eight76 Records. Founded in 2002 by Kenroy "YahBreeze" Archibald and his wife and partner, Myshjua Archibald, Eight76 Records is the official music label of All Arc Enterprises as an outlet for the performing, production, and writing talents at All Arc Productions. The label launched itself into the international marketplace this year with the release of the RUSTIC and SKASMATIC albums with a catalog featuring the talents of veterans like Marcia Griffiths, Luciano, Mikey General, Nadine Sutherland, YahBreeze, producer Barry O'Hare, and emerging stars Evette and Fyah Blaze. I got to beat on a grandmother drum with many others.. The prayers are going out from many folks and people want to gather and unite.. This weekend we hit two festivals and present a Unity Flag to Global Peace Foundation in Golden Gate Park. We in fat got to visit Portugal while in Canada.. Long story short we met with nity Flag Society and we are helping them to influence some help on the Canadian side to help propell the Society.. We have a potential USA screen printer for the lags but it cost about $10 a flag and minimum order..its Pricey... We need investors.. Canada is irie.. Good vibes, good people.. Word is we want to inspire a Hemp Co-op to get more USA investors to invest into hemp farms in Canada to help build more production and infrastructure.. want to get involve email. Now, i want to state and remind all we are a small grass roots team on the road at the present moment and will be that way for another month +. Next One Love lifestyles Magazine may be out Mid November or by December.. we are raising $ to get a laptop and improve our capabilities to work.. We are also in the reality that we have to relocate to another city from the mountains to get more help. Arcata is in the list as well as San Francisco. We may get office space and work out of both.. Seattle community really wants us to work there and Roman of Tribe 13 is now involved with us a bit more and his partner Jen will bring in a mother section called Herbamama. We may even start a regional One Love magazine just to get the vibes for the local Northern California area. We have a plan to maybe activate an event in November.. the 2nd Annual Come Unity event.. We found out that Come Unity in San francisco is an event for a certain DJ to riase $ for his medical condition.. So we don't want to conflict with that but we may just do an event somewhere north in the hills.. Maybe name it in French and or Spanish. Right now its about simplicity, health and building resources.. The elections are coming and we'll see how much things will shift but we must remind ourselves that its not over if Kerry comes into Presidential office.. We must continue to spread the vibes and inspire each other with these One Love Vibes. for a temporary change, the bi-monthly will be a monthly until we / I get back on track with being able to do two newsletter a month. If anyone out there in the Northern California area has a box truck that wants to help us move in November that ould be great.. Now as for National stuff.. STS9 we will see if we can tour with them in 2005 as well as with Spearhead again.. we really ant to ground out business and build our capabilities. for summer 2005.. get magazines and Unity flags and our DVD's and CDs out.. One Love One Light One Vibration www.mysticvibration.com THE CORPORATION Winner of the DOCUMENTARY AUDIENCE AWARD at the 2004 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL. A Feature documentary by Mark Achbar, Jennifer Abbott and Joel Bakan. THE CORPORATION engages us in a darkly amusing account of the institution's evolution as a legal "person" whose prime directive is to produce ever-increasing profit for it's shareholders regardless of the cost to anyone, or anything else. Imbuing it with this pathological nature is a recent human achievement. 150 years ago a corporation was merely an organized way of doing business. Today it is a global power that uses its status as a "person" to claim rights under the constitution. Self-interested, amoral, callous and deceitful, a corporations operational principles make it anti-social. It breaches social and legal standards to get its way even while it mimics the human qualities of empathy, caring and altruism. It suffers no guilt. Diagnosis: the institutional embodiment of laissez-faire capitalism fully meets the diagnostic criteria of a psychopath. Featuring a multitude of interviews with CEO's and top-level executives from some of the worlds largest corporations, representing a wide range of industries, including: oil (Shell), pharmaceuticals (Pfizer), computers (IBM), tires (Goodyear), carpets (Interface), public relations (Burson Marsteller), branding (Landor), and advertising (Initiative); as well as critical thinkers: Noam Chomsky, Peter Drucker, Milton Friedman, Naomi Klein, Mark Kingwell, Vandana Shiva, and muckraking filmmaker Michael Moore. Add to the mix a corporate spy, an undercover marketer, academics, pundits, historians and activists; deftly blend with newsreel footage, early TV advertisements, B movies, and corporate propaganda films and you have the fascinating, original portrait of an institution that is THE CORPORATION. Is there a cure for this pathological pursuit of profit-at-any-cost? Or can we only apply restraints? Will people regain control over the corporation? With cautious optimism, we are invited to reconsider our relationship with the dominant institution of our time.
