URBAN TRIBE - TAKING EUROPE BY STORM !!!! Date: Wed, 24 Aug 2005 20:42:59 -0400 From: "Ejaness.com" The debut release "Bob's Bar" by the Swedish roots reggae group Urban Tribe has been creating a firestorm accross Europe with strong momentum building here on the other side of the Atlantic. Read the update below. Also, log on, listen to tracks from the album and sign up at their new fan page on MySpace.com: http://www.myspace.com/urbantribestockholm The album is distributed by Ejaness Records, purchase it at the following link: http://www.reggaecd.com/store/mcart.php?ID=13727 !!!! URBAN TRIBE - TAKING EUROPE BY STORM !!!! Urban Tribe's "Bobs Bar" is now getting strong air-play on the radio in the US, England, Jamaica & parts of Africa (Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya) Here is feedback from a DJ based in London, England: Greetings UrbanTribe, Blessings, I' recieved the I' cd "Bobs Bar" on this day , Bless. Roots music from Sweden !! Luv the production iya, Live instruments !! Track # 2 "We Say No" # 8 "Better This" # 9 "Chant Dem Down" # 10 "Bad Man"& # 11 "Revolution" irie !! I'man will be playing dem style www.sweet894fm.co.uk in the weeks and months/years ahead. Great Album !! Keep the fire blazing, Rise Up UrbanTribe !!! The recent Scandinavian tour with Steel Pulse a great success Urban Tribe has since then been invited by Steel Pulse to play with them on their home turf, Birmingham, England. The recent tour consisted of three shows: 9 Aug Malmoe, Sweden 10 Aug Oslo, Norway 11 Aug Gothenburg, Sweden Urban Tribes performance didnt go unnoticed by the local promotors in Denmark and Norway, either; they both approa- ched the band after the shows and offered to book gigs with the band in the future. European tour for Urban Tribe in the works a tour is now being planned by Berndt Lagemann (aka DJ Sheriff), who is a promotor based in Germany and also the organizer of the reggae-festival Reggaejam in Germany. The plan is to put together about 10 shows in Germany, Holland and Belgium later this fall. Shows in Denmark and Norway will also be added to the tour. Urban Tribe were supposed to come to the US for a short tour of the north-east (Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Baltimore) but unfortunately it had to be cancelled due to the fact that they couldnt get the necessary work permits in time. Letters of recommendation from experts saying that Urban Tribe are unique and outstanding in the field are being collected right now so far Selwyn Brown of Steel Pulse and Ted Boothroyd who is a staffmember at The Beat in Los Angeles are among the ones who have given Urban Tribe their full endorsement. Below is a quote from Ted Boothroyd: My judgment of the merits of the band is based on their album Bobs Bar, which shows them to be a highly talented band with a distinctive vision and sound. Their powerful rock and pop influences layered atop absolutely irrepressible reggae rhythms is unusual enough, but when combined with the exceptional talent of their instrumentalists, their great original songs and appealing arrangements, and their obvious commitment to their vision, the result is unique, and it is what turns their music into an artistic statement. The live DVD Live at Fasching, filmed at Urban Tribes eremier gig at the famed jazzclub Fasching in Stockholm in May is due to be released later on this fall. During the Steel Pulse tour the band was accompanied by a filmmaker who has started work on a documentary about the band for Swedish television. Parts of his footage will be compiled into the extra material need to complete the live DVD, which features 10 songs performed live. One Love... The Staff Ejaness Records a division of EJANESS, Inc.
