Pato Banton is undoubtedly the reggae star for this generation. His career to date has seen a stream of chart-topping hits worldwide and his unique talent has already attracted mega artists such as Sting, Aswad and UB40 who have been featured on his albums. Born and raised in Birmingham, England (where he still resides), Pato was introduced to music as an MC in his stepfathers traveling reggae disco sound-system act. At a very young age, he was already mixing records and toasting (fast Jamaican rapping to a heavy beat.) While establishing a strong, local following and reputation, he caught the ear of the English Beats Ranking Roger, who took young Pato under his wing and pushed him into becoming a musical performer in his own right and expanding his sights beyond Birmingham. It paid off. With the release of his first two albums - Never Give In and Vision Of the World, Patos status began to blossom around the world. Two Subsequent studio records, Universal Love and Wize Up combined with constant touring firmly entrenched him as a musical force to be reckoned with. Although Pato has always had major success in the United States (album Sales and touring), he is a bona fide megastar in Europe and South America, selling over 3,000,000 albums and headline stadium tours. His fifth studio album Stay Positive spurred the Top 5 UK single, Groovin. Now bringing you up to date after a well deserved break to write a new album plus a change in management and record company, Pato Banton is back and ready to hit the airwaves with the latest release Time Come which is an album full of top-quality music for all to enjoy. The title track is there to tell the world that he is back and his time has come to gain the rewards and recognition for all the year of touring and work he has put into the music business. For three years now, Sol Horizon has been captivating Northern California audiences with their dynamic and irresistible performances of original, reggae-influenced dance music. The band's socially conscious lyrics, acrobatic guitar playing, modern electronica, and infectious rhythms have inspired a diverse following in their native Sonoma County. Sol Horizon's support for community building, sustainable living and political awareness has resulted in numerous invitations to headline local fundraisers for organizations such as Planting Earth Activation, the Mattole Watershed Group, Willow Wood Waldorf School and the Youth Activism Convergence. In June of 2002, Sol Horizon performed at the Health & Harmony Festival where the Mayor of Sebastopol declared them "Sebastopol's Official Reggae Band." The following year, 2003, they were invited back to play on Health & Harmony's Main stage and have been rising steadily ever since. Said to be one of North America's most powerful and promising contemporary roots reggae acts in years, Soul Majestic's lyrics present a clear understanding of the human condition and address pertinent political issues. Recently mentioned in Beat Magazine, writer and radio DJ, Chuck Foster said, Soul Majestic is poised to inherit the top US Reggae band mantel previously held by Blue Riddim and Inka Inka. The diverse range of fans demonstrates their ability to move the most hard-core reggae enthusiasts as well as a wider, more universal audience, and keep them dancing from start to finish. Influenced by old school studio one style, conscious roots, dub, and cultural dance hall, Soul Majestic takes what they have learned from their reggae heroes and funnels it into a unique sound all their own. Soul Majestic achieves this authenticity with their talented combination of players featuring bass and drums, keyboard/organ, lead and rhythm guitar, three horns, percussion and Nyahbingi drums. With charismatic vocalist Eric Iverson as the band's main front person and primary songwriter, the band keeps things fresh by featuring Soul Majestic's other vocal talents as well. They incorporate a strong female presence with Oriana Sanders on leads for a handful of tunes, and a dancehall edge with percussionist Brian Jarvis stepping up as DJ. Lush harmonies from the bands two soul sisters, tight rhythm section, and energetic drum and bass vibes lend the perfect backdrop to this dynamic vocal blend. This concert is in support of Rogelio Johnson, aka Jahson, a longtime supporter, percussionist, and crew of many Bay Area and international reggae, blues, funk and soul bands and musicians for the past 25 years.
