Check out "Reggae Vibes News" for Announcements, New & Upcoming Releases, Singles Chart, Tour Dates and more. For a limited period of time RUNN Records offers a free download MP3 of a track taken from Najah's debut cd "Blessed". Here's the link : http://www.runn.nl "Jamaica's Weekly Top 20 (Singles) Hit List" - plus soundclips - is featured on our site. Also check Teacher & Mr. T's "Hot'n'Fresh Top 10". Pressure's debut album "The Pressure Is On" exceeds most expectations of a regular debut cd. If you're looking for dancehall DJ chat with a mid to late 80's flavour, but backed by hard 21st century beats, "Big Dance A Keep" should provide for you. "Freeman" is one of three recently repackaged albums from roots veteran Winston Rodney aka Burning Spear. "Good Vibes Connection" is a very nice collection of tunes featuring a notable amount of new artists. "Roots Supplement: Nature At It's Best Part 1" is a marvellous, although probably hard-to-find compilation of Gussie P productions. Germaican Records' Pionear and Germany's dancehall caballeros Seeed have teamed up again for "Rodeo", which is another pumping dancehall riddim. Urban Tribe have been added to our profiles section. **** Last week's updates at http://www.reggae-vibes.com **** Pressure Sounds are back with the release of the Peter Tosh double cd "Talking Revolution". The Daniel 'Blaxxx' Lewis produced "Slingshot" is an up-tempo dancehall riddim with stabbing keyboards. "1985 Sleng Teng Extravaganza" features classic cuts across the riddim that changed the reggae world, and started the digital era. The compilation set "Rhythm Streetz Series #3 ~ Invasion Riddim & Maroon Riddim" has nuff killer tunes on two killer riddims. Mark Ice & Dillgin's first full length album, "Cuss Cuss", features some very enjoyable tunes. "World In Trouble" is another recent Ryan Moore production, now with veteran deejay Ranking Joe. Good dub always engages the body and cognitive processes -- Sism X's "Dub Strike" achieves that end effortlessly. "French Dub System 2.0" is another inspired collection from the Hammerbass umbrella of artists. Pressure has been added to our profiles section. New photos have been added to our Picture Gallery: Sean Paul, Najah and Yabby You. THIS AND MUCH MORE AT : http://www.reggae-vibes.com (c) 2005 Reggae Vibes Productions Respect & one love.... Ms. Carol 3Cally2 Houck, the girls9 mother, organized the RageJax Foundation to continue the charitable work of her young daughters. Prior to the tragedy that took the lives of these special sisters, Jacqueline Houck was scheduled to depart for the Guan caste region of Costa Rica where she wanted to teach art to the children of local rural communities. RageJax Foundation seeks to continue and expand this vision through the creation, construction and staffing of community centers for children. The centers will enjoy an environment of creativity, inspiration, imagination, learning and cross-cultural exchange. Through donations and grants, RageJax Foundation will become the benefactor of these centers, providing location, facilities, supplies, equipment and staffing. The Foundation will network with the other non-profit children's organizations in Costa Rica and other regions where the need arises. The Libbey Bowl, located in the center of Libbey Park in downtown Ojai, is a perfect place for a summer show! Yow! Just been waiting to see when it would happen, as the tune just barely missed the top spot in the past two months. Well it finally has, so MASSIVE congrats out to Junior Gong for the FINE tune. Other than that things have been pretty steady out here, with Don Corleon's hardcore (JONKANOO) and roots riddims (DROP LEAF) still controlling the place. Same ole culprits too: TOK, Jah Cure, Beenie Boss, Sean Paul, plus a brand-spanking-new entry by Bling Dawg called "Aerobics Class". On the new-tune-front, two riddims made their way into & up our charts this time around. First, the long-awaited APPLAUSE riddim has finally struck & made its initial impact, in the form of Shane-O, Sizzla & Sean Paul. Lightning-fast, clapping and simply ready to be mixed in with the current dancefloor smashers like JONKANOO, KOPA & COOLIE DANCE. Second, but completely different, Maximum Sound's FOWL FIGHT has landed in NM as well. The riddim does not follow current dancehall trends at all, yet reminds me of a throw-back to the years 2000 & 2001 when the Annex label was ruling the dancehalls with riddims like BUSHY BUSHY & SADDAM. 4 tracks made it from that project (Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Baby G & Anthony B). Not bad. Speaking of Frenchie & Maximum Sound: the man has been quite busy lately; not only releasing FOWL FIGHT but building many of the tracks on Anthony B's EXCELLENT new album "Black Star". On top of that Frenchie has re-created the Viceroys classic YA HO and voiced many fine artists of the time (Richie Spice, Ras Shiloh, Jah Cure etc.). Luciano's "Wash Wash" on Kenroy "Yahbreeze" Archibald's SKABREEZE riddim (reminiscent of the classic 007/SHANTYTOWN beat) hit the #17 spot and a few tracks on the HARD TIMES are still kickin up rumpus as well. Don Corleon just released his new roots riddim called SEASONS which sounds quite excellent and the TOK track on it is a worthy follow-up to their "Footprints" tune; trust me. Kiprich's "Telephone Ting" (a roots (!!!) track-dunno if I've ever heard Kiprich on a roots track before) is hot everywhere, as is the HARD DRUGS riddim. Also WICKED is Rocky Gibbs HAFFI GET A BEATEN, led by the ultimate combination of 2005: the legendary steppin razor Peter Tosh alongside the gargamel Buju Banton. Nuff great new music out there people; so SUPPORT it! Don Martin ps.-be sure to check out www.brotherhoodsound.com the reg.home of these charts.
