Worth and International audiences to talk about his critically acclaimed new Release: "JUSTICE" We at KNON 89.3 Irie FM Dallas was introduced to this Majestic piece of work several months back and have had many requests to hear "Imagine" and the heart tendering song ""OH Mother" YVAD delivery on this CD is more than perfect, each song has a message, and each delivery is heartfelt. The CD starts out with JAH Created and ends with Revelation as the journey continues. YVAD continues to be a deep young man, true to his Roots! We welcome him to the airwaves this Wednesday, April 27th 10:30CST On line number: 972-647-1893 YVAD really needs no introduction, but for the sake of those few who are not familiar with his work. YVAD being a Young Jamaican Powerful, Roots Reggae Singer, sings with the same sensitivity and Compassion relating to the love of JAH that you would hear from Luciano. I personally was introduced to YVAD work many years back when he was with the Tuff Gong Studios and touring with Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. He and his guitar was the highlight of the Marley Magic show for me in New York City (I've been a fan every since). He has since grown and is now on his own. And STILL MANIFESTS the same unique sensitive qualities that I witnessed before. Well, maybe a little more intensified! YVAD is a singer, one who really needs no music but an acoustic guitar to decorate an already tuned vocal, there is a sensitivity that alights from him is felt with every word he sings, hence: Imagine and Oh Mother. Don't get me wrong the music that backs him is tight! Justice gives you all around good vibes. Freedoms coming with YVADS JUSTICE! You shall be the judge. Tune in and give a listening ear; open your hearts and minds To YVAD and JUSTICE. I can guarantee you, 100% listening Pleasure! Yes, yet another one of my Jamaican brothers, continually giving you True Roots Reggae! Productions and Moe's Alley are proud to announce a very special upcoming roots and culture party featuring legendary reggae singer/songwriter RAS MIDAS & the Bridge. --Warming up the stage for Ras Midas will be very special guest Root Awakening. --DJ Donnette G & her System 24/7, the top-ranking female-owned and operated reggae/dancehall system in the area, will be spinning the hottest, freshest & most dangerous discs. --Jamaican-born RAS MIDAS is one of the original roots reggae songwriters, composers and singers of the Bob Marley era, his music and lyrics as insightful and uplifting as that of his contemporaries Joseph Hill (Culture) and Winston Rodney (Burning Spear). Ras Midas is internationally known for his Island Records hit single "Kudea-bamba" ("love of the common people"), which sold half a million copies in Europe and Africa; he also recorded a string of sizable hits on the Island and Harry J record labels in the '70s and early '80s, working with the greatest reggae singers and musicians. Midas speaks seven different languages and sings in French, Swahili and English. A world traveler who has spent much time in the USA, Europe and Africa, Midas extends the boundaries of roots reggae, blending flavors of jazz, R&B, and African musics into his unique sound. Ras Midas' music is described as: "... a new, unique, clear, perfect, crystal sound, interwoven to challenge fashions and times". Ras Midas himself explains: "In my music I see a better world. That's why my band's name is The Bridge ... to bridge the distance between cultures, to make a type of music that everyone can understand. It's about caring for humanity, it's about the environment, it's about a uniformity of love." More about Ras Midas can be found online at: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/rasmidas2 --The ROOT AWAKENING band from the San Francisco Bay Area has provided musical backing for Ken Boothe, the Congos, Nicodemus, Tippa Irie and Daweh Congo among other great reggae artists. Not just an accomplished backing ensemble, Root Awakening is a self-contained band specializing in the great music of the rocksteady and early reggae eras with the irresistible arrangements, harmonies and rhythms that inspired a global phenomenon. Their award-winning original songs also carry that same classic vibe. For the last decade, as more and more fans are discovering, this hardworking crew has quietly developed into one of the best reggae bands on the West Coast. Come move your body and soul to the dynamic performance of a true godfather of roots reggae music on Friday, April 29, when RAS MIDAS delivers the powerful healing sound and message of Rasta to Santa Cruz's own MOE'S ALLEY. This book, "The Beauty Path:A Journey into One Love," will chronicle their journey to seek out the Native American wisdom in the same way that "Rasta Heart:A Journey into One Love" chronicled their travels seeking the wisdom of Bob Marley, Rastafari and reggae music. This new chapter tells of their journey to "Nowasalon" (Breath of Healing) in the Arkansas mountains. It was also called "The Valley of the Vapors" and it is now Hot Spriungs, Arkansas. Indigenous people, from the Yucatan to Alaska, would come here for healing. Though each tribe had their own area, no one tribe ruled the valley. No weapons were allowed in the valley. It was neutral ground, especially for warring tribes. Great council for all tribes would be held with singing and dancing around great campfires. Medicine lodges were erected. It was said that rare healing plants grew in a great circle around the valley. They were gathered by the women of the tribes while the men gathered precious healing crystals and clay, along with gold, silver, pyrite, and whetstones. Gifts were exchanged among individuals and tribes to foster friendship and diplomacy. Legends also say that the elders and chiefs of warring tribes would meet here to resolve their differences. It may have been the first United Nations. Moll Selekta has unleashed an excellent Bunny Lee compilation set entitled "The Bunny Lee Rock Steady Years". "Flesh Of My Skin Blood Of My Blood" is a wicked aural trip into the tormented and dazed mood of Keith Hudson's genius. The one-riddim cd "Storm Alarm" features very fine efforts from both well known (international) and lesser known (French) artists. If you are a hardcore dancehall listener or do appreciate Vybz Kartel, his "Timeless" album is a must have! "Dub Disaster" is a fine album from the vaults of Doctor Echo and Steady Ups. Groundation's album "We Free Again" has great songs, deep riddims, spiritual lyrics, tight backing harmonies, and inspiring solo's. Phenomden's "Fang Ah" is the latest album release on Switzerland's One Ton Records. Elephant Man's "Direct From Jamaica" is a dual disc release gathering audio material with related visual content. **** Last week's updates at http://www.reggae-vibes.com **** With his debut album "Touched By An Angel", Jah Meek fully shows that he's a notable newcomer in the reggae arena. "Wackies Sampler Vol. 2" is an essential 80s-dancehall/dub/roots/lovers compilation. Richie B has released the excellent "Top Flossing" riddim on which all singers and DJs unleash great tunes. "Romantic Reggae Vol. 4" brings a nice selection of lovers tunes. Desmond Dekker's compilation "The Definitive Collection" is 'Intensified -- Music like dirt'. For sure. Although not appreciated by every reggae fan, "Is It Rolling Bob? Dub Versions: Visions Of Jamaica" is certainly worth a listen. Kimoe's maxi-CD "Ein Neuer Morgen" is yet more proof of the enormous potential of reggae and dancehall in Germany. "Watch What You Put Inna Rizzla" is one of the strongest UK reggae tunes of the last year. The ska-inspired midtempo "Messer Banzani" riddim features cuts from artists such as Sizzla, Capleton, Vybz Kartel, Cobra and Admiral Tibet.
