CD release parties will be held in Bellingham, Tacoma and Seattle (scroll down for venue info)....but first, a little about the CD: In his newest release, Vision, Clinton "Basie" Fearon casts his sight beyond even his own previous achievements. In Vision, we see a world where the mystic, the revolutionary, and the ordinary person are one and the same. Soldiers work for peace, and celebration is the backdrop of life. This compilation of profoundly conscious songs brings to fruition a reggae master's life and musical experience. The talented troupe of his current Boogie Brown Band is amplified by contributions from guest artists Winston Watson, Nelson Miller, Leif Dylan, Eyvind Kang, and Naby Camara . Indeed, the swoon-inducing harmonies of Fearon, Ire' and Watson are reminiscent of the great roots bands from which these musicians first hailed-the Gladiators, Culture, and the Meditations. Miller's signature drum work is another bonus. The cuts featuring Clinton Fearon on bass leave no doubt as to why the Studio One original is known as Basie. This creation is ablaze with light. It offers a much-needed vision to steer towards and sustain our souls. Clinton "Basie" Fearon continues to write and arrange roots reggae music on a level with the most renowned reggae artists with his new release, Vision. The lyrics reflect humanity's joys and troubles with boundless heart and soul. The arrangements are ingenious attesting to Clinton's musical accomplishments. The songs performed by Clinton alongside many talented musicians gives reggae enthusiasts another CD to add to their collection of gems. ~ Douglass Colbert, Rootsbeat International, co-host House of Dread, KSER public radio, Everett WA SATURDAY / DECEMBER 2 / 2006 @ THE WILD BUFFALO 208 W. After setting up the sling ting for chopper to take equipment down to village i jumped on for a ride into the beautiful Grand Canyon for my first visit ever. After landing iNi went over to cafe for some pumkin bread and juice for a lunch snack filling in from the long morning drive up. Then i meet with Higher Region Promotions. We had a ites discussion about the dance set for Thanksgiving nite(Nov.23rd). iNi talked serious about how important it is to keep a conscious message for youth through music and why it is so crucial because of other types of lyrics n'such that seem to push an attitude leading to self destruction and also glamering troubling activities that mash dem future in this crucial time. Going after the deep thoughts i went on for a spiritual hike through the enchanting canyon trail. Hiking on through untill the early nite for rest. The show went on as planned the next day for a free dance. Setting up after dinner iNi had sum native PowPow chants jammin off @about 6pm going on just after that was the Reggae Dub session stirring up some foundation chunes and then into sum conscious dancehall bubblers and last but not least the heavyweight dubstep and so on untill about 10:30pm. It was real irie to witness the new generation dancing arouN to positive music they never heard before. Some of the kids were so interested in what was going on they were almost climbing on top of my turtables just wondering how does this work. They always wanted to know who was singing which just proves really how important it is to keep forward only conscious artists who wont lead iNi a stray from a good mission. Closing up show i ran out of selecta7 cd's and was happy to know people enjoyed the special session. It was said that the Reggae SouN'z echoed straight from tribal village all the way past the flowing river and further. People that were not @dance that i meet with later said they were listioning many, many yards away picking up the beats and voices. Just an amazing natural theatre the location is in i must seh. The next day i journeyed out past camp to meet a few elders and new friends for a much needed sweat. Heating up the rocks next to sweat lodge we reasoned on some current issues and so till the rocks were ready. after about 3 sessions of itation n' prayer i was ready for some food. Walking back to camp i could feel the good healing and the blessings from Havasupai people. Lets just say i slept very well on Friday nite and it was comforting mon, yes i* irie. Being i had no ride out till Sunday i could only enjoy my visit longer by taking another foot trip to each wonderful waterfall and soaking up some nice sun rays pon climbing the rocks. I felt very honered to be invited to this sacred land(reservation*) and just cherished every minute there away from babywrong chitty which is where iNi are stationed now. The drive back down to Phoenix/Tempe was a long slam into tight traffic with unforgetable memories from the incredible venture.
