Date: Wednesday, January 18, 2006 2:28 AM Greetings! My ISP has not yet been able to correct the problems I am encountering with my regular email address so if you have something you would like posted to Wha Gwaan in R.A.W.?, please send it to which for some reason, works fine. Anything you might have sent to the address that you would still like included in WGIR, should be re-sent to the address. One other thing, due to the huge time difference between Guam and most parts of the world, it is extremely difficult for me to return phone calls. I really respond much more quickly to emails (provided that for the moment they are sent to the address listed above). So if you've called me at some point in the past, and left a phone message, and are awaiting a response, don't hold your breath waiting for a return phone call. Send me an email, please! Latest up dates include, 2 new various artists songs produced and recorded at the tail end of 2005 via Olive Tree Music. 'Music is Joy' and 'Safe Sex - Just Do It' are positive vibe tunes written in Greek, Turkish and English featuring many of the best artists currently in Cyprus In addition and exclusively for the first time ever as an Mp3 'As'Ta' the original Haji Mike 1st release aka as the origin of Vraggamuffin released in 1990 as a white label is also available for you ears on the song page. Chart wise Haji Mike is making his mark at SoundClick reggae pages. 'Mousiki' is rising high entering at 1257 last week, moving to 51 and now stands at number 20! The song was originally recorded as a Cyprus version of 'Murder She Wrote' in 1992 - with production by Simon Booth (Afro Celt Sound System and Working Week). With a placement so high in The Soundclick reggae charts after so many years just goes to show - that good old tunes never die. The new Haji Mike CD is almost completed. 'The StoryMan' recorded in San Francisco, Athens, London and Nicosia is coming soon and will be represented next week at MIDEM by SmartMusic in Switzerland. Featuring production by SOS, Tony Matthew, and Haji Mike plus guest appearances from Rocker T, Imiskoubria, , CES-ONE, Greekie Lion, Mike Cherry, MD, and CutMaster G! Finally, one famous reggae singer who inspired Haji Mike from way back then was named after a Jamaican racehorse - 'Eek-A-Mouse'. Recently it came to our attention that there's a race horse in Australia called 'The Vrakaman' named after one of Haji's most popular early 1990's hits! Whew! 2005 ended with a BANG for us in Dallas with a Caribbean New Year's Eve Party Hosted by Mike D Magician at the Queen's Banquet Hall in Garland, TX. We partied to 4:00am of course; to bring in the New Year 2006 properly! It was like a magic moment like no other.... Well, I say we partied until 4am at Mike D's, that's because we ventured over to the party next door (literally), hosted by Unity Productions in associations with Black one Entertainment System - Jamaican Rasta's in Full Force! Partying like 2006. Big yourselves up - Unity Productions... Dallas suburb Garland,Texas never saw so much Caribbean Attitude in one night!! Greetings and Much Thanks to all who supported the 2005 radio programs of the Reggae Radio DJ's here at KNON 89.3 Irie FM Dallas North/South Texas and Weblink Internationally! http://www.knon.org/index.php?id=255 Big ups from the entire Reggae DJ Crew: Mike D Magician, Ras Ridi, Jah Larry, Empress Kenjah, Ima Uwagbai, Queen Mushiya, Bro You, Alex C, Queen Amy, Everton and Chief Zehaie! - Special Thanks to: Mikey Dread - for continuing to Mentor me and sending International support our way. Who can know Reggae Radio better than the Rasta in Control Mikey Dread; the Original "Dread at the Controls"! - Mikey is Jah sent, his direction keeps us growing continually. Much respect to the Dread for helping us to keep building the engine in Reggae on the Radio. Inner Visions - Our "Love one anther crew" -for promoting our programming here in Dallas and taking the message on tour and exposing us to the Virgin Island and for showing up for our ANNUAL BENEFITS! We love our Visions. P'ta mon for his general support and programming ideas and just for being a real cool Rasta with a warm heart. His work for the Children of Hurricane Katrina is still unbelievable. Pta' mon is a Rasta who can not only just sing, he's a man of Action, he puts Actions to his words, he don't just say be well and Jah Bless you. He takes action to get things accomplished; the children benefit from his labor of Love. JAH'S Love. For Henry Turner Jr and Flavor who not only supports our programming, not just the Reggae Portion, but also the R & B, Blues and Country programming and for allowing the Queen (wah), to perform with you occasionally, of course Flavor I have to say (I must be the Jamaican spice to the Louisiana flavor) -JUST TEASING PEOPLE (SMILE). Look for a Henry Turner Jr and Flavor - with the Queen Mushiya Tune coming your way soon. Jah Blessing Henry Turner for all you did for the Katrina Hurricane People, opening not only your heart to those in need but your pocket and doors as well. All of you guys see JAH's smiling eyes. Warm Jamaican Love to you all. I can't forget my Yabba! Marcus Yabba Griffith's and Traxx - Yabba is and always will be my Jamaican Rasta Tower of strength. With a commanding voice and strong Rasta convictions. Yabba encourages! Hey just because his all time hit is called "Bad Girl" doesn't mean the brother is a conscious Rasta (smile) after all these years "Bad Girl" is still getting heavy airplay everywhere from Jamaica to England. Yabba is a DEEP Jamaican Rastaman. Everyone can benefit from listening and Reasoning with him. There's no doubt that the Entertainment Arena can be treacherous at times. When I personally feel like packing it in, I can always count on Yabba to keep me grounded for sure. (after all; just like Mikey Dread he's been in the game a long time) his words of wisdom is always right on time. Just knowing he and Mikey Dread is out there doing their thing for the people and keeping Reggae Real, gives one the strength to carry on, happily singing the tune that JAH provided, Reggae Roots Music Live and well.. Wednesday was the last show of the season for the African Forum here at KNON 89.3 Irie FM and to close out the year! Our # 1 supporter, Mikey Dread - of course called in from Florida, to liven up the night (as always). When Mikey's voice comes across the airwaves, it's like thunder, makes you stand to attention! Nuff Respect to him for getting the people wound up like lightening, the telephone lines in the studio went wild! Mikey's energy is imcomparable, only one other person I know that commands so much attention on air and that's Tony Culture! they come as pure Yardies! Jamaican Rasta Man; feel the Vibes, giving the people the true yard style patois! (smile). Thanks Mikey for being you as Diane Chance would say Sexy Eyes. For the fans that called in for Yabba. Yabba was in concert in Montana - the show did not finish until we was well off the air. Soon come though, we will bring you more Yabba! I guess I'm not the only one who can't get enough of the "YABBA"! Next we heard from Inner Visions from Cruz Bay, St. John, USVI, Carmelita Harris -Irievision Worldbeat T.V. San Francisco, Delroy Headly,Rising Sun calling after a performance in Washington D.C. - Trevor Williams with Musical Ambassadors - Florida, P'ta Mon (Louisiana) and Sniper (Torontoa, Canada). We apologize for the long time in between newsletters, but as many of you know 2005 was very busy for us, and as it looks, 2006 will be even more so. This last year we did some great shows performing at such festivals as the Ragga Muffins Festival, and Monterey Bay Reggae Festival, and shared the stage with great acts such as Batch, Ras Attitutde and the Zioniers, Pato Banton, Chinna Smith, Ras Midas, Root Awakening, and recently Anthony B. As many of you probably know by now a few members in the group have had new additions to there family which were of course huge events for us in 2005, let alone in our lives. We thank all you that has supported us throughout the years and we hope that we can continue to bring nourishing conscious music to your ears. The biggest memory for Soul Majestic was probably this last tour (Stand Up 2005) that we did with Reggae/Dancehall Freedom Fighter, Anthony B in November 05. 14 shows in 14 days straight we preformed along side Anthony B and his band. The west coast was on fire and the crowds were a blazin. We thank all that came out for those shows and those that helped to make the tour such a success. But that's not the last of that. Long and Winding Road Starting January 11th 2006 Soul Majestic will embark on the 2nd leg of the Stand Up Tour 2006 with Anthony B and recently added for a few legs of the tour is David Martin. The tour stretches for almost 3 months and covers CO, AR, UT, WY, the Hawaiian Islands, East Coast, West Coast, Mid West, Canada, and the Caribbean. Yow! Brand-new tunes have taken over New Mexico again. 16 tracks out of our top-20 are newcomers in December; at least here in the land of enchantment. While Gyptian, QQ and Perfect have been mashing up reggae-charts, dances and stage-shows for quite a while now in 2005, their selections on Frenz' SPIRITUAL WAR riddim have just now become available in NM and have risen nearly straight to the top already. The same is the case with Trinidad's Marlon Asher. "Ganja Farmer" has been one of the HUGEST reggae hits of the entire year so far, yet we just managed to secure a clean copy of the vinyl a few weeks ago. Wicked ear-worm of a tune and the whole a we constantly humming:"Big stinkin helicopta flow thru di air, weh dem call it? weed-eater! Dem never did there when me wa totin water or when me did applying fertilizer.Yet outta dem sky dem a spittin fire & I'm a likkle yute man wid a hot temper. Mi dig up mi stinkin rocket-launcher and ina di air dispense the helicopter!" SERIOUS !!! Literally brand-new & pre-released is our current #1 though: Bounty Killer & Bunny Rugs' "Down In The Ghetto" on a re-make of Sly & Robbies BAM BAM riddim. The vibes is simply HUGE and no-one can do wrong on this music. I also like the trend of Taxi featuring a whole heap-a-newcomers (like Chaka Chaks, Mitch, Baby E & Justice), which continues here. Vintage crooner & Jimmy Riley teams up with his son Taurus on "Stronger", sexy Sasha links up with Justice on back to "Body Basic" and Future Troubles is reaching out to the "Gal From Puerto Rico". Massive B's BANG BANG charts in the form of TOK and Elephant Man, Rich House's CONCUBINE makes it due to the doctor's yard version of the "Whisper Song", while Shaggy & G-Unit's Olivia climb up to the #10 spot. Katrina"Sunshine"Irons has released her second beat. Its called JUSTICE and was created by Don Corleon and Nigel Staff; usually one dynamite production-team. No different here: the JUSTICE is a vast improvement over Yellow Moon's first release (SUNBLOCK) and Kartel & Marshall ("to the WAYNE!") use the hype to their advantage on the title-track, which has risen to #6. Further excellent entries from Ele & the prophet Capleton on the project are at #'s 19 & 20: good job! Last month's top-a-top DR.EVIL, which I have discovered is not just Leftside but the full-on Leftside & Escobar tag-team, has dropped down to #13, while a number of the excellent tracks on the ICE CUBE riddim are just bubbling under. The hottest 2 tunes on the THROW BACK GIGGY managed to re-enter our charts, courtesy of Leftside & Esco (again) and the gargamel Buju Banton, while (probably) the hottest dancehall track of the entire year has finally reached our areas as well; Elephant Man paying tribute to Black Roses leaders Willie Haggart & Paul Bogle; both of whom were murdered in the past years, on the "Willie Bounce". Full top-50 chart for the entire year 2005 will be up soon. Til next year; keep the fire blazin' Don Martin www.brotherhoodsound.com [10] *=*=*=*=*=*=*= *=*=*=*=*=*=*= *=*=*=*=*=*=*= >From: Warpextor Cosmoverse (R.A.W. #) Subject: The band: CX-1, performing in 2006 [Newsletter] Date: Tue, 3 Jan 2006 17:54:45 -0500 From: Snake Oil Medicine Show check out: CX-1 tour dates!!
