These breddrens are laboring - with intelligent, Rastacentric lyrics by William (Bill) Hall, the frontman and lead singer, and the musical genius of his brother Skyler Jones, producer/engineer, mixin it up on keys. The band is a family affair, with Uncle Ras Jim on guitar and cousin Ronnie Gordon on percussion. Also adding to the rootical nature of the sound are Jah Breeze from Guyana on Drumset and Miles Stevens from Antigua on Bass Guitar. Laborer are nurtured by the influence of the roots reggae sound of St. Croix and Jamaica, as well as their African-American heritage genres of Gospel, R&B, Jazz, and Hip-Hop that lace their reggae tones. The unification of these diverse influences makes their music unique, innovative and deeply inspirational. Recent performances include the LOFI Club on Eastlake Ave in Seattle on Saturday, August 26th, and the Pop Music Festival in Tacoma on the same day. Check for them in your area, or request them to play at your venue or event. They have two CDs released under the titles "Her Fruits" and "What You're Going Thru."
