Akon, is like their "third member." He's all over their album Love is Wicked, lacing lead single Never Never with a grimy giddy-up. Set to serve as the summer's sultry soundtrack Love Is Wicked will be released on Kon Live/180 Ent./Geffen Records Tuesday, June 26. The video for Never Never has premiered on Yahoo while the song was featured on iTunes Tuesday, March 27 as "SINGLE OF THE WEEK. Act quick on itunes & you can download the track for free. The tour kicks off Saturday, April 21 in Las Vegas at The Pearl Concert Theater and wraps up Saturday, June 23 in Irvine, California at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. Brick & Lace's dynamic as artists and their earnest appeal stems from their songwriting savvy. Nyanda and Nailah wrote or co-wrote every song on Love Is Wicked. In fact, the sisters Thorbourne have penned hits for Janet Jackson, Paris Hilton and recently wrote songs for Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls for her upcoming solo project. In addition to Akon, Brick & Lace teamed up with an arsenal of producers to give Love Is Wicked its versatile sound, most notably will.i.am, Tony "CD" Kelly , Cool & Dre, FULL FORCE, Ron Fair and Lenky With sex appeal, a bubbly personality, a smooth voice and a single, We Must Separate, Timeka Marshall has the right package to hit big internationally. We Must Separate is produced by Muzikmedia out of Guyana; the video was shot entirely in Jamaica, where Timeka was recently featured. She has also worked with producer Don Corleone. A newcomer to the music business, Timken is already a star back in Guyana. However, her career so far has been very short. She started out a couple of months ago. A company in Guyana was having a jingle competition she took part and came in first. From then she got involved in singing. Recorded a song, We Should Separate, which was well received back home. The song has a strong R&B flavour," she said. While she has many musical influences, she is still trying to find her own style. Currently she identifies with Jamaican songstress, Alaine, who, she says, has a similar style. "Jamaica is known for reggae music, Trinidad is known for soca, but Guyana doesn't have an identity of its own. We listen to everything, from country, pop, rock to reggae. I consider myself to be very versatile; I try to mix my stuff. I try to incorporate different genres of music into my stuff, so I can't really give a name to my music," she said. While Guyana has some success with the outstanding Eddy Grant, with Natural Black and First Born earning some reggae popularity, Timeka wishes to be the next person from Guyana to really turn heads. "We haven't had a major impact recently. I want to be that person. I haven't been singing for years, but I've already achieved so much," she said. Canada; Jamaican-born Keipher Scott, a.k.a. Korexion, draws upon reggae, hip hop and pop to create an appealing musical hybrid. He is classified as an artist on a mission to spread love and reggae music amongst the world's people. Formerly in the duo Two Of A Kind, Korexion is now winning converts with his EP, Xrated. "He has earned his space here," said reggae great Sly Dunbar about Korexion. He is this years Juno award winner for reggae recording of the year. There are no new releases this week. Each week we ask a trivia question first last week we asked what was Headley Jones other music al first? He was the first to build aN EKLECTRIIC guitar in jamaica.
