PICK IT UP & DROP IT SEAN PAUL ATLANTIC We all know about Bob Marley's children doing music as well as Peter Tosh's son Andrew but nothing has been heard of the children of Bunny Wailer, the third and sole surviving member of the original Wailers cast. So those that happened to turn out for the recent Bob Marley Bash in Negril discovered that Bunny Wailer has a singing daughter, who is now on a musical mission. The attractive Atlanta-based singer, Ngeri Livingston, who sings under the moniker Sensi Love has been singing professionally for the past three years. In fact she has just released a single entitled, A Little More Time. Inspired by the success of reigning International Power Soca Monarch, Bunji Garlin, with his cover version of "Fiery" by Maestro, promoter Randy Glasgow has decided to present, in celebration of the 47th Anniversary of Trinidad and Tobago's Independence, the National Independence Retro Monarch competition. He added that this shows how important it is for the classics to be reintroduced so that today's youth can develop a sense of gratitude towards the cultural heroes who helped shape this nation's identity, which is now being eroded. The Retro Monarch competition will be open to artistes who perform calypso, soca, chutney and rapso with the first prize in this inaugural edition being $100,000. Oscar winning Filmmaker MARTIN SCORSESE is lining up another documentary about BOB MARLEY. Scorsese has previously explored the '60s heyday of Bob Dylan's career in No Direction Home and his new Rolling Stones concert film Shine A Light premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in Germany. Now the director has signed up to shoot a documentary on Marley & his son Ziggy Marley will act as executive producer on the currently-untitled film, which is set for release on 6 February 2010, the 65th anniversary of the star's birth. Lastly, Alpha Blondy has just postponed his US tour due to pneumonia & malaria. In our new releases this week first from VP Records its the cd called 'Essential' from Byron Lee & the dragonaires. This is an essential for Byron Lee fan as this a historical look at the music. They also release the 'Best of Sweet Love.' A solid cd of lovers rock oriented reggae but I would have thought it to better. 'Spirit In A Material World: A Reggae Tribute To The Police' is a new release courtesy of Shanachie & is done by some of the biggest names not only in reggae but in music. Lastly, Heartbeat Records continues to keep the legendary Studio one very alive. This time it's in the form of Lee 'Scratch' Perry's 'Chicken Scratch' but in a deluxe edition. It has as most do unreleased on cd or at all as well as bonus tracks. A must for any reggae music enthusiast. Each week we ask a trivia question first last week we asked, so who were the original members of the Wailing Souls? Winston 'Pipe' Matthews, LLoyd 'Bread' McDonald, George 'Buddy' Hayes, & Rudolph 'Garth' Dennis This week we ask, which very famous reggae group did they not ony work with they also did background vocals for? In case you don't know. we will have all that & more on next weeks edition..... It can also be heard on The Wave St Lucia 93.7 & 94.5 WSTX FM 100 St Croix Vibz Radio St John Antigua 92.9 PJD2 1300am & Pjd3 102.7 Dutch St Martin w/ Master D Selector's Choice PETER C LEWIS 'OVER & OVER' LANCE-O 305.534.6110 KULCHA SHOK MUZIK, Inc. www.kulchashok.com myspace.com/kulchashok myspace.com/islandhopperstv [9] *=*=*=*=*=*=*= *=*=*=*=*=*=*= *=*=*=*=*=*=*= >From: Kaati [Reggae Ambassadors Worldwide #111] Subject: ROOTZ UNDERGROUND - JAMAICA'S HOTTEST BAND.
